PRESIDENT WEAH DEDICATES TWO COMMUNITIES ROAD PROJECTS

Monrovia, January 8, 2019, On Saturday January 5, Ministers from the Ministry of Public Works accompanied His Excellency Dr. George M. Weah on a tour wherein he commissioned two Asphalt Pavement Road Projects, the Chugbor Road ( Old Road Sinkor) and the Archbishop Michael Francis Road in Paynesville City. Cutting the Ribbons, the Liberian Leader thanked the communities for their cooperation and for working with the contractors for the smooth implementation of the projects he also reiterated his government commitment to reconnect communities by roads as promised in the Pro-Poor Agenda for Prosperity and Development (PAPD), he also informed the gathering that his government will never rest till Liberians can feel the impact of quality roads connectivity which will see Liberia achieving real Economic Growth and Development. At separate ceremonies, community dwellers and Leaders in the two projects areas praised President Weah and the Public Works Minister, Hon. Mobutu Vlah Nyenpan for what they called a dream come through initiative and promised to work with the Government of Liberia in making it a prosperous Nation. Also speaking on behalf the Ministry of Public Works, the Deputy Minister for Administration Hon. Joseph P. Todd said due to the Ministry’s commitment to ensure that our counties are connected by roads, the Minister Hon. Mobutu Vlah Nyenpan couldn’t have been in attendance at the ceremonies but asked him to extend his greetings to residents of the two project areas. Hon. Todd has vowed that the Ministry through its Technical Team will ensure the durability in the construction of roads and other infrastructural development projects across the Nation. In a separate comment, the Deputy Minister for Technical Services Hon. Claude Langley said his being at the Ministry of Public Works is to ensure that contractors meet all of the set standards in keeping with the Government of Liberia Agenda, he also informed the gathering that the Ministry of Public Works has made it a mandate to all construction companies wanting to implement contracts from the Government of Liberia, through the Ministry of Public Works are to adhere to the bar set by the Ministry .” This is something we at the Ministry have assured the President and that is something we are committed doing”. In a brief Remark, the contractors implementing the two Projects assured the Government of Liberia of their unwavering commitments in the implementation of the projects as stipulated in the contracts. In separate comments, the contractors praised and thanked the Ministry of Public Works and the Government of Liberia at Large for affording them the opportunity to help in the reconstruction drive of the Country’s roads Network.
