Ministry of Public Works Begins Upgrading SKD-GSA Road Under The Community Gravel Roads Project
Monrovia, Liberia, March 28, 2025 – The Ministry of Public Works has commenced the clearing and gravel placement on the 2-kilometer SKD-GSA road as part of its ongoing Community Gravel Roads Project. The initiative aims to improve road accessibility and enhance transportation for residents in the area.
According to Ministry officials, the project is in line with the government's commitment to infrastructure development, ensuring that communities benefit from safer and more durable roads. The work currently underway includes clearing debris, leveling the roadway, installing culvert lines, and laying gravel to provide a more stable surface for vehicles and pedestrians.
Residents have welcomed the project, citing its potential to ease transportation challenges, especially during the rainy season when roads in the area often become impassable.
"We have struggled with bad roads for years, and this work is a big relief for us," said one community member. "We appreciate the government's efforts in improving our infrastructure."
The Ministry of Public Works has assured the public that it remains committed to rehabilitating community roads across the country. Further improvements, including possible asphalt paving, will depend on budget allocations and future assessments.
The SKD-GSA road project is expected to be completed in the coming weeks, significantly improving connectivity for residents and businesses in the area.
